"Children in After School programs get better grades than their peers. They show greater interest in school, learn new skills, and exhibit improved behavior. Youth who do not attend after school programs are at greater risk of being involved in crime, and are missing out on important opportunities to learn and grow." — afterschoolalliance.org
Finding a safe, enriching before-school and after-school program is easy when you look to Partners In Learning. Our program is designed to provide an engaging environment where school-age children can spend time with friends before and after school. And to make it convenient for you, we are not currently able to provide transportation, however you may bring your child and a bus will transport from Overton Elementary School. Our centers work with your school calendar and offer fun-filled programs during holidays and out-of-school days.
Our school age program helps school-age children develop a sense of who they are and what they can do. We promote collaboration and positive group interaction, giving children a choice in daily planning, and encourage independent learning. Additionally, we offer exciting activities, hands-on exploration, and daily homework time. This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
