Special Instruction / Play Therapy services

Early childhood special educators and speech therapist travel to the child’s home or center to assist both the child and the caregiver of children ages birth to three years of age. Funding availability determines both the length and duration of service. Typically, one primary interventionist visits once per week for one hour. The primary interventionist works with transdisciplinary team members to plan and implement activities based on each child's needs. The team includes the expertise of an early childhood special education teacher, a speech-language and motor therapist and the consultation services of a licensed psychologist and social worker. Progress is documented on an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Play Therapy is free of charge to children who qualify. Speech therapy is based on the families income.
